So, what better way to start out than with the subject of Faith.
Faith is an important word in the Bible as evident by the large number of verses about this topic.
The bible states that by faith, we live, we receive righteousness, we are justified in Christ, we stand firm in out belief. We receive the promise of the Spirit and we wait for the return of Christ by faith.
There are several translations of the bible. I grew up on the King James Version of the bible. Naturally it's the version I am most accustomed to. However, I know also that there are several versions or translations of the bible.
On my bookshelf, I have at least 11 bibles. My first bible was received on August 30, 1987 from my church. I have several translations including King James Version, Revised Standard Version, NIV, New American Standard and Study Bibles.
I personally prefer the King James Version, but as far as study bibles go, I would recommend the Harper Collins Study Bible. Another good study bible would be The Learning Bible: Contemporary English Version.
The American King James Version, King James Bible & Webster's Bible Translation all three agree on their definition of faith.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1
There are several examples in the bible of people who were called by or acted as a result of faith.
1. By faith, Abel brought God a better and more acceptable sacrifice than Cain.
2. Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven.
3. By faith, Noah, being forewarned by God, diligently and reverently constructed and prepared an ark.
4. Urged by faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth in faith and dwelt in a strange land.
These are just a few examples of faith and people in the bible who were called by and acted as a result of their faith.
We have access to God’s grace by faith and we are saved by faith.
Here's hoping you all have a blessed and faith filled day.
