Up, Up and Away

Up, up and Away and I'm not talking about Superman's catchphrase.
Saturday night, I headed acorss town to attend the Legends Balloon Rally.

This unique outdoor event that began in 2008 is held at Hot Springs Memorial Field Airport.
Balloons from all over the country are tethered to the ground for the magnificent balloon glow.

The flickering glow of each balloon creates a beautiful display in the evening light.
Balloons are piloted by a veteran balloonist with no less than 300 hours experience.

Spectacular hot air balloons and live music are just a few of the things that the
Legends Balloon Rally has to offer, and the best part is, it is all free!

Below are some pictures from this year's Hot Air Balloons & Balloon Glow.

Just beautiful isn't it?

Football Fever

Okay so for all of my friends with football fever or avid football fans, Arkansas is moving on up in the rankings.  Currently they are 3-0 as they prepare to take on Alabama and the Crimson Tide this weekend.

I think this picture pretty much says it all.

Holly's New Haircut

Okay, so many of you have already probably seen the pictures that I posted of my dog, Holly's new haircut.

I took her on Tuesday, to get her hair cut.  I was waiting until closer to fall.  I took her to Happy Tails.  They did a great job with her!

Here are some pictures below of Holly after her cut.

Holly on her way home after getting her hair cut.
The groomer brought her out and set her down on the floor and she hurried right over to me.
Doesn't she look so happy ;o)
For those who know Holly, yes, I took a risk by letting her ride in my car without a carrier.

Holly making herself at home after getting home from the groomer.  She just sprawled out on the floor.

One of my favorite pictures.  This cut is what the breed is supposed to look like.

Holly laying comfortably on the floor happy to be home.

Holly was watching me eat my lunch.

Fallin' for Fall

Okay, so today marks the autumn equinox or the first day of fall.  Fall to many means the start of football season.  I know several people, myself included, who like fall as it usually brings with it cooler temperatures.

I also like fall for the beautiful leaves that it brings with it.

I especially love the color of the maple leaves.

To some friends, fall marks the beginning of the hunting season.

Happy Fall to all

Celebrating Anniversaries

I know it has been some time since my last post.  So today, I want to celebrate anniversaries.

So today, a very special couple marked their wedding anniversary.

They met in college and were married on this day in Hope, AR at Garrett Memorial Baptist Church.

To the special couple...

Love brought you two together as husband and wife.
Today's a very special day reserved for just you two.

Here's wishing you both much happiness and love
today, and all year through
for many years to come.

Happy Anniversary!

Starry Night

So, this weekend, while camping out with my family, the weather was so amazing and perfect.

So, Friday night, we went out fishing briefly.  The weather was really nice out.  The fish weren't biting though since a perfect cool front had come through.

After fishing, we came back to campsite for the evening.  It was a cool, crisp evening.
Perfect weather for a campfire and for smores.

So what makes the perfect smore?  Graham crackers are a must.
Some prefer peanut butter and others prefer chocolate on the graham cracker.
Then you toast your marshmellow over the campfire to your liking.
Some prefer blackened and others lightly toasted.
Top your smore off with the other half of your graham cracker and enjoy.

Since there is a burn ban in effect, so no campfire was made.

We changed into longer pants for the evening since it was rather cool out.

It was a beautiful night Friday night.  The weather was a bit on the cool side.
It was a starry night and I'm not referring to Van Gogh.

The sky was perfectly clear and filled with stars like the image above.  Being in the city, you don't get to see that many stars or appreciate how beautiful they can be.

The next morning, was really cool and crisp and a bit chilly.  We wore jeans or pants and a sweatshirt or jacket.
There was fog on the water of the lake.

It later cleared off and warmed up.

Butterflies are Free

So, this butterfly landed on my kitchen door window recently.   Notice the butterfly shadow in photo above.

Butterfly on my kitchen window.

The above picture is the same butterfly.  It lit on my patio furniture so I took a few pictures.
